European Babies to be RFID Microchipped by May 2014 Message
Social media is being flooded by links to a news story that claims that it will be mandatory for all European babies to be implanted with a “subcutaneous RFID chip”.
However the rumour is entirely false, with absolutely no basis in reality whatsoever, and appears to be merely a poorly constructed piece of satire from website topinfopost.com. In part, the article claims that the RFID to be implanted into babies from May 2014 will act as a GPS sensor accurate to 5 meters…
The rumour can be traced back to articles posted on a handful of conspiracy websites back in 2007 that claimed – without evidence – that various governments were moving in the direction of implanting citizens via mandatory implants in newborns in Europe and the U.S.
Hoaxes such as these “Big Brother” rumours often gain viral success through the medium of social media websites such as Facebook and Twitter because they exploit a common fear of a lack of privacy and control from a prying, authoritarian Government.
Similar rumours have circulated over the last few years, asserting that all Americans would have to be implanted with an RFID chip under new rules that come into force with the ”ObamaCare” Health bill. Of course these rumours were false, but continued to circulate for years, continually pushing the alleged deadline further and further back, and the story was likened to the Biblical Mark of the Beast.
The image in the article (above) actually shows, according to the UKs The Telegraph a “Tattoo Stamp” being developed by Motorola which could be used as a proximity device for replacing passwords, and has nothing to do with mandatory microchipping.

These facts, along with the lack of reputable sources and no legitimate news outlets reporting the same story, only go to confirm that is entire story is nothing more than pure hokum.
Whilst it would be easy for us to say that RFID implanting as described in the article will never happen, who is it for us to say what will happen 500 years, even 1000 years from the date of this article? We simply have no idea what the future holds (we’re only 1 year -at the time of writing- away from ‘the future’ in Back to the Future and we’re still waiting for our hover boards) but what we do know is that any plans like the ones outlined in this article (i.e. the mandatory implanting of all a countries citizens) are unfeasible for many different reasons (much less the negative public reception) and thus are certainly not going to happen in the foreseeable future, in Europe, America or anywhere else.
Additionally, a 2014 rumour that claims all public schools by 2015 is as equally as spurious.
Thus circulating this article is certainly not recommended.
