5 Ways to Make Money Online – Legitimately!

Work-from-home scams claiming to provide the secrets to making money online are in every corner of the Internet.

So popular are these schemes that it can be very difficult to get useful information on how it is possible to get some extra cash using your computer and your Internet connection. The good news is that there are legitimate methods of making money online.

We outline five such methods below, as well as its advantages and disadvantages. If you’re looking for a quick, easy way to become rich by doing very little, then you may as well stop reading now. Those opportunities don’t exist.

But if you’re looking for some useful information about making money online legitimately, then read on!

5. Reward per Action websites

When Internet surfers look to make some extra money online, most will turn to websites that pay out for completing simple tasks since these are the easiest and quickest way to make some extra bucks.

Such sites are popular because they require no technical knowledge, almost anyone can do it, they’re free and you can get started straight away. While these websites aren’t going to replace your full time income, they can be very effective at supplementing it to pay off some household bills or to treat yourself every now and again.

The leading website using this business model is Swagbucks. Swagbucks have a large variety of different tasks for you to complete, many you would do on the Internet any way, like watching videos or performing Internet searches. You can also do surveys, play games and look out for special codes. The more tasks you do, the more points you accumulate, and these points can be cashed out for cash (via PayPal) or to gift cards for stores like Amazon.

If you’re looking for an easy way to make some extra money, we really recommend Swagbucks (Tip: follow their Facebook page to get daily codes that accumulate points.)

You can sign up through this link and if you use our signup code nonsense2020 then you get 70 free swagbucks to get you started and if you earn over 300 swagbucks in your first month, you get another 300 completely free!

4. Become a YouTube Star

If you didn’t know already, those people who upload videos to (now Google-owned) YouTube are most likely earning money from their creations.

That’s because of the adverts that YouTube put on the videos, either at the start or during the video. The person who uploads the video gets money every time an advert is viewed and/or clicked. And the more views a video gets, the more money is made!

Again, the great thing about YouTube is that anyone can do it providing you have a computer and a way of taking videos, and it doesn’t require much technical know-how to get basic videos uploaded. Another advantage with YouTube is that there isn’t really any limit on how much money you can make. Quite simply, the more views your videos get, the more money you make. Some of the top YouTubers make A LOT of money and have even retired from their jobs to upload videos full time.

Of course, there are some drawbacks too. For one, you really do need a lot of views to make lots of money. So if you’re videos are only being seen a few dozen times, the money you earn isn’t going to be very much. And of course, coming up with ideas for videos that people will want to watch can be difficult.

But this is certainly a method you can grow into. Learning about how market your videos to people notice them and watch them is something worth doing if you want to make a go at making money with YouTube and there are plenty of great resources to point you in the right direction such as this Kindle book.

3. Revenue Sharing Writing

If you love to write, then you can get paid to do just that! Places like HubPages are sites that allow you to post content on whatever interests you, and providing your content is deemed acceptable by the respective site’s quality assurance guidelines, you can make money by having adverts (or affiliate recommendations) placed next to your content which can lead to you getting a cut of the money made from the advertising revenue!

For example, if someone clicks on an advert on your article, the site gets paid, and you get a cut!

Or… on HubPages, if you recommend a product and someone buys it, you get a commission for the purchase.

Of course just like becoming big on YouTube, the more views your content attracts the more money is going to be accrued by you. And once again, understanding certain marketing concepts will go a long way to helping you get more views and create more popular content and thus make more money. Again, see number 1 on the list for more information on this point.

2. Sell your services!

Have a talent? Photography? Photoshop? CGI? Coding? Writing sales copy? Writing in general? Translating? Creating music or sound effects? Do you even have a talent for voiceovers or presenting?

If you have a talent, there is someone out there looking for you, and you just need to know where to go to be found. There are tons of great sites like fiverr.com, tenrr.com or fivesquid.com that aims to connect people looking for a specific talent and the, well… the actual talent.

If you think of something you can sell, go to these sites and see if people are looking for people like you. Generally you have to work pretty cheap, but the plus side is you can [usually] do it from home and you can do as much [or less] as you like.

1. Learn Internet marketing and get rich

When people decide they’d like to learn how to make money online, we generally recommend learning Internet marketing – that is to say, learning how to attract Internet traffic to your website/page and convert that traffic into cold hard cash.

Sounds simple enough but it’s actually an incredibly large industry with tons of information to learn – the more you learn, the more money you can potentially make.

SEO, keyword research, website development and design, CPC & CPA, social media, compelling content and affiliate & advertising platforms are all things you’d be best of understanding if you want to get into Internet marketing, and once you begin to understand all of this you are in a better position to branch off in whatever direction you want to take, whether it’s making it big on YouTube, blogging about a specific subject, creating a membership website or forum. Even selling your own products on the World Wide Web.

Despite what many a scammy website peddling the latest “ultimate formula” or “proven system” may tell you, this isn’t quick and easy. It takes a good amount of determination and persistence, and plenty of learning too. But the good news is that…
– all the information you need is out there online
– you can get started without having to pay large amounts of money
– and there is genuinely no limit to how much money you can make if you’re good at what you do!

There are tons of great free resources on the Internet, but for just starting out, we’ve been recommending the Wealthy Affiliate University since 2018. The Wealthy Affiliate is a large resource and community that’s been helping people make money online over the last 13 years, and boasts over one million members. You can sign up here and look around for free, but if you want access to their hordes of premium content, there is a monthly fee (no contracts though, you can cancel at any time.) On that site you can learn loads about Internet Marketing, with a specific interest in Affiliate Marketing, which means selling other peoples products and getting a commission (meaning you don’t need your own product.)

Again, you can sign up here.
