No, EasyJet are not gifting free tickets to everyone
Links are going viral on Facebook that claim airline company EasyJet are “gifting” 2 free tickets for their 22nd anniversary for everyone that clicks a link.
The links are part of a scam designed to lure Facebook users into –
1. Spamming their friends on Facebook with the same link
2. Signing up to spammy marketing companies and giving out their personal contact information (so they’ll then be bombarded with marketing calls, texts and emails)
These scams are incredibly popular on social media, yet despite numerous warnings for scams like this, they remain very popular. A number of similar scams have also claimed Facebook users can win free tickets for Qantas and many other airline companies.
The social engineering trick of claiming a company is giving away free prizes for their anniversary is a popular modus operandi used by spammers to lure Facebook users to spammy marketing websites, and we have previously discussed it in more detail here.

Facebook users that click the link will soon be asked that to claim their free tickets they have to share the page onto their timeline as well as copy a link to the webpage to Facebook groups to which they are a member.
Once that has completed, Facebook users are then redirected to any number of spammy third party companies that are designed to harvest their personal details and subsequently bombard them with spam.
After jumping through these hoops, Facebook users then learn that there are no free EasyJet tickets on offer, but by then it is too late – they have already spammed their friends and handed over their contact information to spammy marketing companies.
Remember, if a site asks you to spam your friends and complete surveys before you get your prize, then it’s most probably a scam.
