Did Julia Roberts say Michelle Obama was unfit to clean Melania Trump’s toilet? Fact Check
Claims are spreading on social media that claim US actress Julia Roberts had said during an interview that former First Lady Michelle Obama wasn’t fit to clean Melania Trump’s toilet.
The claim originated from the website YourNewsWire.com, a website that continually publishes dubious or plain false claims. In the article, YourNewsWire.com wrote –
First Lady Melania Trump has been “looked down upon and disrespected by sneering liberals across the country” while “doing a brilliant job” according to Julia Roberts, who also declared that former First Lady Michelle Obama “isn’t fit to clean to clean her toilet.”
Julia Roberts was speaking on the New York set of her new film, as principal photography began on the drama Ben Is Back.
Michelle Obama paid a visit to the film production while in the vicinity and Julia Roberts agreed to meet her, however she opened up about the differences between America’s most recent First Ladies as soon as Michelle left the set.
“Melania has her priorities straight and she is a great example for our young women,” Julia Roberts said. “Michelle? Talk about a wolf in sheepskin.“
That same article has been disseminated across the Internet, and has made appearances on other websites including 50StateReport.com. However, there appears to be little truth to the article. As we stated above, YourNewsWire.com isn’t a media outlet and continually publishes nonsense articles. There are no reputable reports that the actress made such remarks directed towards Michelle Obama.
Any Internet search for Robert’s apparent quotes simply leads back to the same source, or to websites that have simply copied YourNewsWire.com’s article verbatim.
The same article also falsely claims that Celine Dion stated “I can’t even look at an American flag anymore. I hate this country“. That claim was taken from another fake article and also isn’t true. Celine Dion said no such thing.

Julia Roberts making such a remark would certainly be out of character. Julia Roberts actively campaigned for Hilary Clinton during the 2016 presidential election, the opposing candidate to Donald (and Melania) Trump. She had also attended fundraising events for Obama during his 2012 campaign.
Given that there appears to be no reputable reports that Julia Roberts has launched an inexplicable attack on Michelle Obama, and that the only source is from a known dubious website known for printing fake news, this can be dismissed as nonsense.
