Free £500 Primark Voucher Messages on Facebook

Are Facebook messages offering free £500 Primark vouchers genuine?

The classic free voucher giveaway hoaxes are rampant towards the build-up to Christmas, exploiting shoppers looking for some well-timed freebies to help with the expenses of Yuletide shopping.

But as online shopping increases, so do the scams trying to exploit the shoppers. And Facebook freebie offers are a popular scam we see at this time of the year.

The scam of the week this time around appears to be targeting retail outlet Primark, as the following posts like the one below are popping up all across the social networking site.

We practically exhaust ourselves warning users from this type of scam, that despite its progressed age and utter unoriginality, somehow still manages to fool tens of thousands of users who think following the spam-laden steps is going to win them a freebie.

The scam follows the well-worn steps of linking to an external website, imploring users to Share said website on their Facebook walls, and then, for those that managed to get re-directed, complete a series of spam-laden questionnaires.

And will you get a free Primark voucher after all that trouble?

Not a chance.

These scams are designed to harvest your personal information, and falling for this type of scam not only puts you in the firing line of spam marketers, but considering you shared it on your Facebook wall, it puts your friends at risk as well.

So don’t fall for them! Not even because “it might be real”.
