A video is spreading across the Internet that claims you can place the end of a banana with the end part of a kiwi to create a hybrid fruit.
The video refers to the technique as “grafting”. The presenter places the end of banana alongside the end of a kiwi, places the pair in soil and – according to the video – after a week or so claims they have now grown into a hybrid fruit that has the skin of a banana and the inside of a kiwi. The video purports to depict the resulting “fruit” after the grafting experiment.

Many viewers were bewildered by the video, though we suspect these viewers were not so agriculturally inclined. After tracking down the full length version of the video on YouTube, it was clear that the social media version of the video had omitted the very important ending – where the presenter wishes his viewers a happy April Fool’s Day.
Indeed the original video on YouTube was uploaded on April 1st 2014 by popular YouTube channel Kin Community which specialises in various DIY projects.
