A series of images are spreading on social media that claim to show the moment singer Jason Derulo fell down the stairs at the 2021 Met Gala.

The images are spreading through social media, specifically across Twitter, as per the example below.

Jason Derulo Has Fallen Down The Stairs at the Met Gala!

The claim is not true, and is actually a reoccurring meme that often resurfaces during celebrity filled events. In fact social media users have been intentionally spreading the misattributed photo since 2015, along with the false claim the photo shows Jason Derulo falling down stairs.

However, while the image is intended as a humorous joke, it always manages to convince other social media users that it really does show Derulo.

The photo actually shows a man attempting to perform some type of stunt at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival, as per the original upload of the photos which can be seen here. Those images offer a clearer version of the mans face, and it becomes apparent that it is not Jason Derulo.

However, so popular are the persistent Jason Derulo hoaxes, the singer himself has even responded to the claims as you can see in the video below.
