Did Pornhub logo appear on CNN’s “Magic Wall” during broadcast? Fact Check

A video appears to show the moment the Pornhub banner appeared on the CNN “Magic Wall” during a live news broadcast during the 2020 presidential election.

FALSE

The video appears to show the moment the Pornhub logo briefly appeared on the top right of the CNN “Magic Wall” (the name given to their interactive large screens containing the US electoral map) before being discarded by John King using the screen’s touchscreen feature.

The video can be seen below.

However, the video is fake. Looking closely, it is clear that the banner appears to be floating over the video, suggesting it has been layered on using video manipulation software.

But more convincingly, reporter Tancredi Palmeri tracked down the real footage of the CNN broadcast. In reality John King was swiping away a pop-up box on the touchscreen that they have previously been writing notes on using the screen’s hand-drawing feature. The video can be seen below.

As such we rank this claim false.
