Did Trump refer to Tammy Duckworth in tweet as “Nolegs”? Fact Check

A screenshot of a tweet allegedly made by President Trump referring to Senator Tammy Duckworth as “Lieutenant Nolegs Duckworth” is circulating on social media.

FALSE

The screenshot can be seen below.

Being lectured by Lieutenant Nolegs Duckworth, a woman without any legs trying to say that my bone spurs were fake, DOCTORS CERT PROVES IT! Democrats are still upset about their loss but we all know Crooked Hillary set them upto fail, Sad!

Tammy Duckworth lost both of her legs in Iraq in 2004 when a Black Hawk helicopter she was co-piloting was struck by a rocket propelled grenade.

While Trump is known to frequently direct insulting playground nicknames towards his critics, sometimes based on their physical appearance (e.g. Sleepy Eyed Chucked Todd) in this instance however, the tweet is fake.

We also searched through various archiving services as well those that include tweets that were subsequently deleted or removed, and again the above tweet does not appear. In fact we could locate no tweets where Trump mentioned the term “bone spurs”.

As such, it appears the screenshot is just another example of pranksters using one of the many fake tweet tools freely available online to spread misinformation.
