An image of actress and presenter Whoopi Goldberg wearing a violent t-shirt depicting President Trump shooting himself is circulating the Internet.
Goldberg has been an outspoken critic of the US President, so many social media viewers took the image at face value.
It is, however, fake. The image has been spreading since 2017 but is digitally altered, as a simply Internet search can reveal. Below is both the doctored image on the left alongside the original.

The fake image has been spreading on and off since 2017, and Goldberg has previously commented that she would never wear a t-shirt like that regardless of her personal feelings towards President Trump. However the fake image went viral once again in 2018 after Roseanne Barr retweeted the image along with a barrage of other conspiracy theories shortly after her racist tweet controversy in May 2018.
The image is fake, and as such social media users should not circulate it as a genuine photo.
