Does post show President Trump’s Fordham University transcript? Fact Check

Social media posts purport to reveal President Trump’s first semester transcripts at Fordham University, apparently revealing a somewhat less-than-average GPA of 1.28 as well as an F grade in Statistics.

FALSE

An example of such a post can be seen below –

However the image appears to be fabricated, as revealed by a number of different clues. If we take aside the fact that the image has been clearly printed using a modern day printer and using digitalised fonts (neither of which would have been available when Trump attended university during the 1960s) there is still the issue that the place of residence listed for President Trump is Wareham Place in Jamaica Estates, Queens, New York.

It is well documented that while the 45th president did indeed live at that address that was built by his father Fred Trump, he moved away from it when he was four years old to a nearby (and much larger house) in Midland Parkway (also in Jamaica Estates.) There is nothing to indicate that Trump returned to this residence at any point after, meaning it would make no sense for it to be listed on his university transcript many years later.

Additionally, we reached out to Bob Howe, Assistant Vice President for Communications at Fordham University, who offered this official statement from the university –

The image is a forgery, not an actual Fordham University transcript. Fordham University respects the privacy of its students and alumni, and follows federal law regarding the handling and release of academic records.

As such, there is little reason to believe the transcript it genuine.
