Does video online show men adding or stealing ballots from drop-off box in Reseda? Fact Check

A video that allegedly shows two men collecting ballots from a drop off box in Reseda, California is circulating on social media.

Many are circulating the video under the context that is shows some type of voter fraud. The video was also retweeted by President Trump.

The video is below.

Despite the claims or implications, this video shows two election officials collecting valid ballots shortly after the election day deadline.

This was confirmed by Los Angeles County Registrar County Clerk, that posted on their Twitter feed

RE: videos clips of ballots being collected from #LACounty Official Vote by Mail Drop Boxes — Yes, they are ballots; valid, legally cast ballots collected and processed by authorized election officials in accordance with the California Elections Code.

In response to a question about how the county prevents people from adding ballots to the box after the election day deadline, LA County Clerk added to their response

The Drop Boxes are closed and locked at 8PM on Election Night and then collected the following day. These are valid ballots processed and counted during the post election canvass.

There is nothing to suggest that the video shows anything untoward, and the relevant county clerk’s office has confirmed that the men in the video were election officials.
