A video claims to show a plane dropping bombs before being shot at by an air defence system is circulating online, along with the claim that this shows a Russian warplane attacking the Ukraine.
(You cam see a full runnig list of Russian-Ukraine misinformation here.)
A screenshot of the video as seen on Twitter is below. Multiple versions of the same video exist.
The video, apparently taken at night, shows an explosion as a result of a bomb before a plane is seen trying to avoid shots fired by an air defence system. As the conflict between Russia and the Ukraine escalates, a number of videos and photos allegedly showing the consequences of this conflict are circulating online.
However we should be especially careful in what we share during moments of conflict since social media is often used prolifically to spread misinformation. This is one such example.

In reality this video was not taken during the Russia and Ukraine escalation. In fact the video isn’t even real since it comes from a video game called ARMA 3, an open-world realism based tactical shooter video game.
The likeness of the video in question is strikingly similar to a number of videos online showing the same ARMA 3 video game, specifically videos showing the simulation Counter-Rocket, Artillery Missile (C-RAM) systems in the video-game simulation. One such video is below.
The video does not show real-life conflict, let alone conflict related to Russia and Ukraine. We rank the video as false.
