Fake news – man hospitalized after boyfriends fist got stuck in anus

A bizarre article is spreading virally claiming a man was hospitalised after his boyfriends fist became stuck in his anus.

The story comes courtesy of a known fake news website called WorldNewsDailyReport.com and reads in part –

San Mateo, CA | A Californian man is being treated at the San Mateo Medical Center after his boyfriend’s fist was stuck for a painstaking 14 hours in his own rectum.
The couple who were allegedly practicing “fisting,” a sexual activity that involves inserting a hand into the partner’s rectum, called 9-1-1 after they were unable to release the man’s hand from his boyfriend’s anal cavity.
Both men were transported by ambulance to San Mateo Medical Center where hospital staff successfully released the man’s hand only 14 hours later, a complicated task due to heavy inflammation, blood loss and risk of laceration, say doctors.

Despite the article’s incredulous claims, users have still fallen for this story. However, given the notorious source of the story, we can safely dismiss it as a fake news article.

Nothing in the article is genuine, and a reverse image search reveals that the man used to illustrate the article is a man named David Priestman, a man who gave up his hospital bed for victims of the Manchester terror attack.
