Has an angel really fallen from the sky in London?

Rumours and messages are spreading across the Internet claiming to show a fallen angel (above) that apparently fell from the sky this week in London. The image claims to show an elderly man with what appears to be wings, face down wearing a white gown.

The image has spread across the Internet and it is difficult to ascertain exactly where the messages began, but website NewsWatch33.com has recently published the story as well as a many other websites and blogs, even various YouTube videos. The NewsWatch33.com article reads in part –

An Angel like creature has fallen from the skies of London. Authorities quickly removed the creature from the scene after securing the area, but not before witnesses were able to view it. Reportedly, an Angel like creature fell from the sky at approximately 1:50 pm

Despite the prolific rumours, sites like NewsWatch33.com are fake news sites, and the images do not show a fallen angel. In fact they show an art exhibit by Beijing artists Sun Yuan and Peng Yu. The piece is made from silica gel, stainless steel, fiberglass over a woven mesh, and was created back in 2008. More details about the piece can be found on the artist’s website here.

You can see an image of the piece below during an exhibition.

However at some point the images were taken from their correct context and attributed to the false assertion that this is a mysterious entity that has fallen from the sky in London – other variants will likely attribute other locations – and these rumours have been largely carried by the fake news industry that are ever so popular right now.

These photos and false assertion have been published on numerous websites and blogs, but alas they are all false.
