Social media rumours circulating February 2018 claim that Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone has died from a battle with prostate cancer.
One post in particular has circulated prolifically on Facebook, accumulated over 600,000 shares at the time of writing. However the claims are completely false – Stallone is alive and well, and not – from what we know – suffering from prostate cancer.
SO LONG CHAMP
Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone died early this morning after his battle with prostate cancer, the actor kept his illness a secret, but in the end he couldn’t beat it.
The social media post above comes attached to two photos apparently depicting Sylvester Stallone appearing ill, with thinning hair akin to those undergoing chemotherapy. However these photos appear to be make-up and prosthetics for a movie. More of these photos can be seen here. Many have speculated the make-up is for Stallone’s upcoming movie Creed 2, since the first Creed movie saw Stallone’s character Rocky Balboa contract non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a type of blood cancer.

Given that there are no confirmed reports of Stallone’s death, and we only have unconfirmed rumours on social media, it is very likely that this is nothing more than a silly, time-wasting hoax, and we don’t recommend spreading it.
Stallone has since posted on his Instagram account –
Please ignore this stupidity… Alive and well and happy and healthy… Still punching!
Stallone was the target of another popular death hoax back in September 2016.
