A hoax is spreading across the Internet that claims CBS reporter Hannah Chanpong posted a tweet claiming that staff were resigning from the Clinton 2016 presidential campaign, and that there were “worries” that Clinton was dropping out.
This has led to many online rumours spreading prolifically across social media that Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton is dropping out of the presidential race.
Many of these rumour come attached to a screenshot of a tweet apparently made by Chanpong (seen below.) The tweet is being used on various politically conservative US based websites.

However the rumours – and the tweet above apparently posted by Chanpong – are fake.
Digitally manipulating tweets to make it appear as if they were posted by someone specific is not difficult to achieve. There are even websites that will do it all for you.

However since Twitter are often refurbishing how their tweets look, such “fake tweet” services must stay current to appear convincing. The service in this case must have been out-dated, since the tweet contains several features that Twitter has since removed, including the “Favorite” option underneath the tweet, which Twitter removed in 2015, and replaced with a “like” option and heart icon.
Since the tweet was apparently made on September 2nd 2016, it is clear that the tweet is fake. It was never posted by Chanpong, and thus it is fake. Since this seems to be the primary source fuelling these rumours, there is little reason to believe any of the stories about Clinton dropping from the presidential race are accurate.
No legitimate sources or mainstream media have reported on Clinton dropping from the race. The entire story seems to be a hoax, fuelled by a fake tweet screenshot.
