Hoax – NASA confirmed 15 days of darkness for November 2016

A persistent hoax is out for another run that claims NASA has confirmed 15 days of darkness that will occur in November 2016.

Just like previous incarnations of this absurd hoax, it is once again completely untrue. One of the earlier versions of this hoax appeared back in 2014, and claimed NASA had confirmed 6 days of darkness during October of that year.

That rumour initially started courtesy of a popular fake news site called Huzlers.com, and was soon disseminated across a variety of fake news slash clickbait type websites with more concern for luring traffic to their pages than publishing accurate news.

And over the years, many other versions have since popped up on a number of different clickbait websites, only with the dates changed to suit the publication date of the article. Previous incarnations have quoted October 2014, November 2015 and October 2016. The number of days the darkness will allegedly last for also varies anywhere between 6 to 15 days, depending on what version of the hoax you happen across.

In this instance, the website naturalmedicineworld.com published this last version of the hoax –

We have come across many reports regarding earth and its changes in recent times and not many materialize. However, this time NASA has confirmed that earth will experience total darkness for 15 days in November 2016 starting from November 15 to November 29.

Other variants of the same nonsense also claim that this is “proof” that the Holy Bible is accurate and the darkness predicted by NASA is a sign of the “end of times”.

To confirm, NASA has confirmed no such thing. Not for October 2014, November 2015 or November 2016. These are all hoaxes with zero credibility.
