Ingenious browser extension stops wandering eyes spying on you

A new Google Chrome extension could prove very useful for those worried about wandering eyes spying on their computer screens in public places.

We’ve all probably been in a situation before where we’d rather somebody didn’t see what was on our computer screen when we’ve been out and about in public places like a crosscountry train, a Wi-Fi café, an airport or someplace else.

Maybe we were sending a private email, checking our online accounts, writing a personal Facebook message or even looking at content that could be embarrassing or… well, adult.

A new Google Chrome extension could solve all your problems. It’s called Decodelia, and it basicalyl obscures whatever webpages are loaded on your Google Chrome Internet browser with a plethora of wavy lines. This means anyone looking at your computer screen simply cannot make out what you’re looking at.

Of course, this begs the question, how do YOU see what is on your computer screen? The answer is simple – with some top secret X-Ray specs. Well, not X-Ray specs, and not secret. In fact, they just need to be tinted red (available in many places) and that should be enough to block out those wavy lines so you can see what you’re doing, and all those non-red-spec wearers cannot.

And if someone approaches you and your laptop wearing red tinted glasses themselves, you’ll have a pretty good reason to believe they’re probably up to no good!

It’s a good reminder that not all computer crimes need special technical abilities. Sometimes accessing someone’s personal accounts can be as easy as watching what you’re typing and where you’re typing it.

Would you use Decodelia when out and about? It’s available on the Google store. Let us know.
