Is Dunkin’ Donuts celebrating 70th anniversary with free coupons? Fact Check
Links are circulating on social media that claim to offer a free box of Dunkin’ Donuts’s 70th anniversary.
The links appear to show such a coupon and urge social media users – specifically on Facebook – to click the link to collect their coupon. An example of such a post can be seen below.
However this is just a scam aimed at getting visitors to engage with spammy surveys. Such surveys are designed to harvest personal contact information which will be sold to marketing companies resulting in visitors being spammed.
Upon clicking the Facebook link above, visitors are asked to answer arbitrary questions. Regardless of how they answer these questions, visitors are told they have “qualified” for a free coupon and told to share the same page onto their own Facebook timelines, thus helping the scam spread.
Upon doing that, the visitor is then redirected to spammy marketing websites after their contact information, where visitors are told to complete any number of intrusive surveys and questionnaires aimed at harvest their personal information.

There are no coupons available for Dunkin’ Donuts, who aren’t celebrating their 70th anniversary since they are 69 years old at the time these links began to spread. The links are nothing to do with Dunkin’ Donuts whatsoever.
Users who click these links and follow the instructions will not only end up risking their friends by sharing these spammy links on their newsfeeds, but can also expect to be spammed by the marketing companies to which their contact information is sold.
Naturally, we don’t recommend engaging with these sorts of links at all.
