A Facebook page is offering to give away TV’s to “14 lucky fans” if they comment and share a Facebook post.
The page, called Lidl Club, claims that the TV’s has minor cosmetic damage and as such cannot be sold.
We’ve had 14 TV’s which were slightly damaged while in transit and are now unable to be sold due to some minor scratching and scuffing. Therefore, we have decided to give these out to 14 lucky fans who share and comment below by March 14th. Like our page for updates. Good luck!
It’s a like-farming scam, whereas the page admins are trying to trick Facebook users into engaging and spreading a Facebook post using deception, since there isn’t actually a prize on offer.
The aim of these Facebook pages varies. It is possible that the page may later try and lure Facebook users to spammy marketing websites which harvest user information. It’s also possible the page is building a database of Facebook users to target with more serious scams. It is also possible that those who engage with these posts may receive messages from the page that are designed to lure them into scam.

The page itself has nothing to do with the Lidl supermarket chain, which is demonstrated by its lack of a blue verification tick and its Page Transparency feature shows it was only created a handful of weeks before the “giveaway” post was published.
All the official Lidl pages on Facebook (Lidl US, Lidl GB etc.) were created many years ago, and all have the blue verification tick next to their name. Offers or promotions from other unofficial pages are likely to be scams.
We don’t recommend engaging with these posts or sharing them on your own feed, since this also puts your friends at risk as well.
