Jack Black “dead” according to official Twitter feed
According to the official Twitter feed of Tenacious D, Jack Blacks famous two-man rock band, the popular singer and actor has been recently pronounced dead due to “reasons unknown”
I’m sad to officially annouce the death of Jack Black at the age of 46, rest in peace brother.
It is with a heavy heart I am to announce that Jack Black passed away last night at 3:37am. The cause of death is yet unknown.
A third simply read #RipJackBlack. This naturally sent Twitter into a frenzy, with ‘Jack Black’ quickly appearing on the Trending Items list and many thousands tweeting their condolences.
Despite the sad news, many fans seemed sceptical. The tweets seemed suspicious, and many fans claimed to be in possession of photos of Black very much alive, apparently taken since the tweets reporting his demise were posted online.
Alas, it turned out to be some kind of prank/hack/something else. Only a matter of hours after the tweets reported his death came to light, another set of tweets were posted from the official Tenacious D Twitter account announcing the whole thing as a “prank”.
Calm down guys! It’s just a prank bro, look there’s the camera…
The Legend is still alive, it is ok guys 🙂
So it seems like Jack Black is very much alive. But what happened?

There appear to be two main possibilities.
One – the account was hacked by a hoaxer looking to start yet another celebrity death hoax.
Two – There had already been a small number of rumours reporting the death of Jack Black before the tweets, so it may have been the band themselves just capitalising on those rumours as a joke.
Whatever the reason, no Jack Black is NOT dead.
Rejoice.
