Lowe’s are NOT giving away $50 coupons to everyone. It’s a scam
Yet another fake gift card giveaway scam is managing to go viral across Facebook, continuing to trick users into sharing potentially malicious links with their Facebook friends.
In this case, users are being tricked into sharing links that promise free $50 coupons for DIY chain Lowe’s.
Upon clicking a link promising a $50 coupon, visitors are taken to a webpage that implores them to share the same link on their own timeline before they can “claim their coupon”.

When that is done, the visitor is then implored to complete a series of spammy questionnaires and surveys from spammy marketing companies that are only interested in harvesting personal information so they can send more spam to anyone tricked into completing them.
And after all that, as is typical with these scams, there are no coupons on offer. Visitors are bombarded with dozens of spammy offers in a never-ended circle of spam.
Please don’t click links on Facebook promising free coupons. These are nearly always survey scams that aim to trick you into handing over your contact information.
