Did Paris Hilton confuse Nelson Mandela with Martin Luther King in a recent Tweet?
Image text: RIP Nelson Mandela. Your I Have A Dream speech was so inspiring. Amazing man
Many social networking were shocked after seeing a screen dump of what appeared to be a tweet from Paris Hilton praising Nelson Mandela, yet stating “Your I Have a Dream Speech was so Inspiring”.
Such a speech obviously being made famous by Martin Luther King, not Nelson Mandela.
However, the Tweet is fake.
It appears to have been the creation of now-defunct account @DeletedTweets, who posted other fake tweets from various celebrities including Britney Spears, Beyonce and Tom Daley. See below….
It appears the fake tweet duped many online blogs and media outlets, after falsely being reported as true. Paris Hiltons twitter account confirmed the Tweet was fake after posting a rebuke, below…
Whoever made that stupid fake tweet lacks respect to the loss the world is mourning right now. Same goes for all the blogs who ran with it.
