Robber posts plans to rob Tesco store on Facebook. Jailed.

In the latest entry to our “stupid criminals and social media” series, ladies and gentlemen, can we introduce Andrew Hennells.

Hennells robbed a Tesco store in Kings Lynn, fleeing with £410. He was caught only minutes later in a local pub after a witness reported seeing a man demanding money at a Tesco store. Armed police turned up and arrested Hennell on suspicion of armed robbery.

The next step to any armed robbery case is then trying to secure the prosecution by proving -beyond any reasonable doubt- that it was indeed Hennell who was responsible for the robbery.

Thanks to Hennell’s inexplicably stupid social media activity, this was much easier than usual.

Why? Because Hennell has basically posted about his plans to rob Tesco on his Facebook account. It was actually posted as a comment to a photo he posted.

Doing. Tesco. Over

If all criminals could post about their imminent criminal plans, then prosecuting them would be a lot easier with much less hassle. Hennell, unsurprisingly, quickly turned in a guilty verdict.
