As many of our frequent readers have already suspected, it is nothing more than a typical like-farming scam using a fake giveaway to lure unsuspecting Facebook users to a Facebook page. Learn more about like-farming scams here.

It is likely that the Facebook post being shared across the site will be edited to include a link to spammy marketing webpages that target visitors with spam and harvest personal contact information. Such sites are often linked with serious scams like identity fraud and text message subscriptions.

In this case the page that made the post is clearly a typical like-farming Facebook page. It lacks the blue verification tick that Facebook gives to pages that are officially linked to a brand, and thus the offer has nothing to do with the official Toyota brand. The page – called Toyota Land Cruiser 2016 – at the time of writing has made only one post.

Remember that if you click these links and complete the surveys, you’ll be giving away your personal contact information to spammers. There are no free Toyota Land Cruisers on offer here. It is just a scam.
