It seems that Facebook “update” rumours circulate now with the sole intention of insulting a Facebook user’s intelligence. Over the last year, we have received so many emails from people questioning various update rumours (You know the ones that request you update your status to get something to happen) – some not so obviously fake, yet some so obviously false that we would naturally assume the creator made it as a joke.
Of course the same advice is dispatched from our HQ every time we get asked the questions – no, updating your status will not make anything occur, appear or materialise and it will not win or achieve you anything either.
Yet the rumours still circulate – they’re always there – insulting you with their mere presence.
So today let us embrace these status updates and repeat our Silly Status Update competition that we did last year. The rules are simple, put down the silliest, funniest and most unbelievable “copy this to your status and…” update you can think of. The funnier, the better!
Last year’s highlights –
*** READ THIS *** Brett Favre says he WILL retire if at least 1,500,000 people copy and paste this status on their Facebook!!! Let’s focus on more important things this off-season! PLEASE HELP OUT, PEOPLE! WE NEED ALL WE CAN GET!
Nick Wilson
Windows has detected a “Trojan malware keylogger worm virus” on your Facebook account. You must copy this message to your status or it will trigger a hardware malfunction on your computer and cause it to catch fire. THIS IS REAL. John ignored this message. He’s dead now.
