Every so often we take to the Internet to point out those websites that steal the artwork of other designers and are known for ripping off customers.
Often operating in countries such as China and Russia, these websites scour the Internet for artwork and upload that artwork onto their own site – without the artist’s permission – and promote those stolen designs on their own products (t-shirts, hoodies etc.) as a “print-on-demand” service (print on demand refers to the design actually being printed after an order is made.)
However such websites are known for ripping off customers and not sending out products, or sending out inferior products. That fact, coupled with the fact they steal artwork from reputable artists, means these websites should be avoided at all costs.
Such websites include both blueteesshirt.com and teeherivar.com. We have received complaints about both of these websites from artists who have found their hard work on display on these web domains.
In both cases we’ve tried to contact the websites, who fail to respond to both copyright complaints, cease-and-desist letters and DMCA takedown notices.
We’ve also spoken to previous customers who have complained that the sites did not ship any items.
Consequently we recommend avoiding these websites, and only stick to buying from reputable websites, or sites belonging to the graphic artists themselves. Be on the lookout for generic or poor websites that are only out to profit from the hard work of others!
