Stories about a man who ate his wife while they were stuck in an elevator together derive from a well know fake news website, and the story isn’t real.
Social media users were shocked to read the dramatic tale of Bruce Franklin, a 44 year old man from Philadelphia who, according to a news “report”, killed and subsequently ate his wife after they were stuck in an elevator together.
But alas, not is all as it seems. In fact the story was originally published by the notorious fake news website WorldNewsDailyReport.com, a spoof website that churns out this kind of fake news daily.

The article published by this spoof site reads –
Philadephia, PA | 44-year old Bruce Franklin was arrested this morning, after he confessed to killing his wife and eating her flesh while he was stuck with her in an elevator.
According to the Philadelphia Police Department, the partially devoured corpse of his wife was lying next to him when he was rescued after being stuck for three days in an elevator.
Mr Franklin immediately confessed that he had reluctantly killed her and eaten almost 12 lbs of her flesh, saying it was necessary to his own survival.
However the story is entirely fictional.
In fact WorldNewsDailyReport.com regularly fools users with these sort of stories, users who apparently missed the sites disclaimer –
WNDR assumes however all responsibility for the satirical nature of its articles and for the fictional nature of their content. All characters appearing in the articles in this website – even those based on real people – are entirely fictional and any resemblance between them and any persons, living, dead, or undead is purely a miracle.
Given that the site confessed its articles are spoof, there is really no reason to take this story at face value. It’s fake news.
