This woman created a great way to make her teenage kids contact her…

A Texas mom has come up with an ingenious way of making sure her teens respond to her calls and texts.

Sharon Standifird created a mobile app that disables her teenage kids phones if they do not respond to her in a timely manner when they’re out and about.

According to the ex-Gulf soldier, she got the idea after her teenage kids ignored her calls and text messages, prompting her to create an app that would require a child to get in touch with their parents before being able to use their phones.

If one of her children do not answer mom’s phone calls then she can access her side of the app – which she has named “Ignore No More” – select the device her child is using and hit Block.

The child’s phone then goes completely blank. No texts. No games. No unauthorised calls. In fact the only thing the child can do is call their parents or a list of pre-approved numbers, including, we imagine, the emergency services.

Whilst some parental control apps have similar features they come bloated with lots of unnecessary features too, and many parental control apps are not really suitable for older children like teens.

This app instead is focussed solely on prompting kids to call mom!

Not only has Standifird served in the Gulf War, she has also patrolled as a military police officer and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, before working with a team of app developers to create this software.

“Ignore No More” is available on Google Play for Android phones.
