Update Google Chrome browser for desktop now after zero-day fix

If you’re using the Google Chrome browser on your Windows, Mac or Linux computer then you need to make sure its updated to the latest version after Google fixes another zero-day vulnerability.

The vulnerability impacts the way the browser interacts with Javascript that could potentially allow criminals to gain remote control of a device. (This means that potentially merely visiting a malicious website could result in files being downloaded to your device, giving crooks access to it.)

A zero-day vulnerability means exploits are already being used by cyber-crooks that capitalise on the vulnerability, so making sure you’re up-to-date as soon as possible is vital.

To update your version of Chrome, click the three dotted icon on the top right of any Chrome browser screen, then select Help and then About Google Chrome. This automatically prompts Chrome to look for an update.

It also displays the latest version of Chrome you have installed. It should be 91.0.4472.101 or higher.
