A video appears to show a paper aeroplane flying perpetually in a circuit, propelled by a number of desk fans placed in a circle.
An example of the video can be seen below.
The video often comes accompanied by a caption to the effect of “what physicists do when they’re bored.”
However the video is fake. The video appears to have been first uploaded onto Instagram in September 2016 by user VernBestInTheWorld. It is clear that the video is just a repeating GIF video to give the impression that the paper aeroplane is flying perpetually around a circuit.
It’s also pretty unlikely that the paper plane even completed one circuit, since the user VernBestInTheWorld appears to specialise in CGI short videos. His channel appears to be exclusively for short videos showing various special effects tricks. All of the other videos posted by that channel showcase special effects work.
The channel is titled “short magical videos”.
