Will Woody be openly bisexual in upcoming Toy Story 4 movie? Fact Check
Rumours spreading across the Internet claim the main protagonist in the Toy Story movies, Woody, will be openly bisexual in the upcoming Toy Story 4.
FALSE
Despite the prolific nature of these rumours, they are not grounded in reality. It appears the rumours first gained traction when the website NPC Daily published an article during March 2019 with the headline “Disney announces that Woody will be ‘openly bisexual’ in Toy Story 4”
along with the tagline “Toy Story will be the most inclusive instalment of the franchise yet!”.
That NPC Daily article also contained a tweet, apparently from Disney, announcing the news.
Great news for the LGBTQAIP community. A little bird told us that Woody will be openly bisexual in Toy Story 4. He’s got a friend in him! #ToyStory4
However NPC Daily is – by its own omission – a satirical website. It’s homepage tagline is “News, Political and Cultural Satire”. Additionally, scrolling down and clicking the link to the About page reveals the following disclaimer –
NPC Daily is a satire site, providing political and cultural commentary with wanton sarcasm. NPC Daily pokes fun of modern journalism and liberalism. f you believe one of our articles is real, it’s because the content is not too far adrift from what is published by mainstream news outlets. But, alas, our content is totally fictitious and is created to elicit laughs and bemusement.
As such, NPC Daily clearly isn’t a website that readers should be getting their news from.

We also checked if Disney really did make the aforementioned tweet, and they did not. In fact there is no announcement regarding the sexuality of Woody from Disney nor anyone else involved in the making of the movie.
As such, it is safe to say that this is nothing more than a hoax fueled by online users mistaking a satirical article for truth.
